RBC Canadian Open

Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Key to the strategic vision of the RBC Canadian Open, RBC and Golf Canada have committed to generating philanthropic dollars from the tournament to support of children’s wellness in Canada. Since 1904, the RBC Canadian Open has contributed over $49 million dollars to various charities and community programs.

From 2008 to 2012, the RBC Canadian Open welcomed the Mike Weir Foundation as the event’s National Charity Partner. The Mike Weir Foundation is dedicated to advancing the physical, emotional and educational welfare of children in Canada. Through the support of sponsors and donors, the foundation has raised over $5 million for children's wellness with over $4 million of support being provided for children's health care and related causes.

Each year, the RBC Canadian Open also appoints a local charity in the tournament’s host market to benefit from the week’s activities. The appointed charity is able to create their own activation programs and ticket sales initiatives around the tournament. These efforts help to generate additional revenue for their cause. Keeping with our commitment to supporting children’s wellness, our past local charities include The Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation and ROCK (Reach Out Centre for Kids), B.C. Children’s Hospital and The Community Council for Abused Children.
The RBC Canadian Open honors the military by offering complimentary admission to those currently in service and all veterans.
