Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida
Since 1977, when THE PLAYERS Championship moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., nearly $60 million has been contributed to Northeast Florida charitable organizations and causes, ranging from health care and youth education to human services and including a record $7.1 million in 2013 that benefited more than 300 First Coast charities.
THE PLAYERS' goal over the next 10 years is to generate $50 million for youth-related charities in Northeast Florida. The event is dedicated to making a significant financial impact on local non-profits that promote youth education, health and wellness, and character development. To date, more than $17 million has been raised toward that goal.
Through this shift in focus, THE PLAYERS will more than triple the financial impact on area non-profits that promote youth education, character development, and health and fitness.
In addition, THE PLAYERS honors America's heroes by offering complimentary admission to active-duty, retired and Reserve military personnel and their families with valid identification, and by providing a private hospitality for military families with complimentary food and beverage.
