Advocacy, Inc.
Operates the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program and the Patients' Rights Advocate Program serving Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties. Both programs are federal and/or state mandated to protect the rights of two of the most vulnerable populations in our community. We provide rights protection, advocacy and abuse prevention, investigation and intervention to residents of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities and mental health consumers. Our mission is protection, through advocacy, education and intervention, of the rights of facility-placed seniors and disabled persons and individuals with mental health needs.

Ag Against Hunger
Ag Against Hunger's mission is to alleviate hunger by providing the necessary link between the agricultural community and food assistance organizations. We are a surplus clearinghouse that collects and distributes produce to foodbanks. In the 19 years since its inception Ag Against Hunger has provided over 154 million pounds of fresh produce to people in need throughout California and the West Coast.

Animal Friends Rescue Project
AFRP is dedicated to finding good permanent homes for abandoned, stray,injured and abused companion animals through innovative community outreach and ending the pet overpopulation crisis through focused spay/neuter programs.

Arts Habitat, Inc.
Arts Habitat is a non-profit, 501c3 organization. We incorporated in 1996, in response to the closure and redevelopment of Fort Ord. We adopted the mission: CREATING A PLACE FOR CREATING ART to demonstrate our commitment to establishing an arts community at Fort Ord's East Garrison. Arts Habitat's goals include: developing facilities for a self-sustaining, mixed use art center; providing low cost studio/housing for artists and their families; providing facilities for patrons and arts organizations; and developing programs to encourage appreciation of, knowledge about, and skills in the arts.

Beacon House
The Beacon House alcohol and drug treatment facility is licensed by the State of California (#270001NA) and certified by the California State Department of Alcohol and Drugs Programs to provide treatment to individuals with chemical addiction or abuse issues. Located in Pacific Grove, California, the Program is housed in a 1902 Victorian home. Beacon House is a private, non-profit (501C3) organization, managed by a Board of Directors. The Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) has honored our Detoxification, Residential and Outpatient Treatment programs with their highest accreditation.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County has been the preeminent youth mentoring organization for over 27 years-- changing the way children grow up in Santa Cruz County. Its service is based in the dedication of its volunteers. It has proven success in creating and nurturing positive relationships that benefit everyone-- including the volunteer, the child, the families and the community.

Big Sur Marathon JUST RUN youth program
The JUST RUN youth program ( provides free fitness,nutrition, and character building activities to youth ages 5 to 18. It is website based and can be done by any school or youth group in any location. This past school year more than 6,000 children participated.

Blind & Visually Impaired Center of Monterey County Inc.
The BVIC's mission is to impower individuals to meet the every day challenges of visual disabilities through education, support services, and skills training. This includes instruction in Daily Living Skills and Orientation & Mobility, Low Vision Services, Support Services, Marjorie R McNeely Low Vision Clinic, Fellowship, and Assistive Technology Center.

Breast Cancer Assistance Group of the Monterey Peninsula
The Breast Cancer Assistance Group of the Monterey Peninsula is an all-volunteer organization of breast cancer survivors who raise funds and awareness to improve the lives of breast cancer patients and their families. Special Needs Grants are given to women who have a financial need associated with breast cancer due to loss of job, inadequate insurance or other special circumstances. Grants may be used to pay for rent, food, other basic living expenses and to assist with medical bills. BCAG raises funds through its own activities and the efforts of other community organizations and businesses.

Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music
The mission of the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music is to be the leader in the creation and presentation of contemporary music for orchestra and to promote the understanding and enjoyment of new symphonic works locally, regionally, and globally. Founded in 1963, it is our nation's oldest festival dedicated to new music for orchestra.
