SoulCycle to hold first ever PGA TOUR charity ride at THE NORTHERN TRUST golf tournament

July 26, 2017

Old Westbury, New York – Today, THE NORTHERN TRUST golf tournament announced that SoulCycle, the country’s premier indoor cycling and lifestyle brand, will hold a charity ride on Tuesday, August 22 during tournament week at the Glen Oaks Club. This ride will mark the first time that SoulCycle holds a class at a PGA TOUR event. The announcement was made by Julie Tyson, SVP of Championship Management – NY for the PGA TOUR, and Julie Dermer, the SoulCycle Instructor who will lead the charity ride at the tournament.

THE NORTHERN TRUST is the first event of the PGA TOUR’s season-ending FedExCup Playoffs and will be played at the Glen Oaks Club on Long Island, August 22-27, 2017.

"What we loved about hosting a joint charity ride is that it exposes riders to what's so cool about, fitness, a gorgeous setting and most of all fun." Said Tyson. "Going to SoulCycle has always been one of the best parts of my day. I set my intention, get lost in the music and walk away both exhausted and exhilarated. I'd encourage anyone that hasn't tried it to come out to Glen Oaks Club."

The charity ride at the tournament will consist of a signature 45-minute SoulCycle class. Taking place on Tuesday, August 22 at 6:15 p.m. on the back patio of the clubhouse overlooking the golf course, the pop-up class will consist of 56 bikes and will be taught by seasoned SoulCycle instructor Julie Dermer. Bikes for the ride are $100 to $400, depending on their location, with all proceeds benefitting The First Tee.

Bikes are available for purchase here. Participants will receive a gift bag, and will be invited to an after-ride party, hosted by DEAN & DELUCA PERFORMANCE.

THE NORTHERN TRUST will kick off FedExCup Playoffs at the Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury, New York, August 22-27, 2017. For more information and a behind-the-scenes look at the tournament, visit or follow the tournament on Twitter and Instagram @TheNTGolf, and on Facebook at
