2017 Nationwide Stars for Heroes campaign to benefit Birdies for the Brave

June 1, 2017

Forty-two Hardee’s® restaurants in the northeast Florida region have designated Birdies for the Brave as their charity of choice as part of this year’s seventh annual Stars for Heroes fundraising campaign from CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc. (“CKE”), parent company of Carl’s Jr.® and Hardee’s restaurants.  Launched this week and continuing through June 21, Hardee’s customers at these locations can donate any amount to Birdies for the Brave, a national military outreach initiative proudly supported by the PGA TOUR which is dedicated to honoring and showing appreciation to the courageous members of our U.S. Armed Forces and their families.  For each donation made, guests will receive a commemorative “I support military veterans and families” patriotic, star-shaped cutout to personalize and display in their local restaurant. Donors will also receive coupons valued at more than $10 to use toward future purchases.

Thousands of other Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s restaurant locations nationwide will take part in the program for the benefit of national charity partners the Gary Sinise Foundation, Stand Up and Play Foundation, and USA Cares, in addition to regional and local military-focused charities.  Now in its seventh year, Stars for Heroes has raised more than $6.5 million for military charities, harnessing the compassion and generosity of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s customers, franchisees and employees to support our nation’s heroes.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to be included in the Stars for Heroes Campaign,” said PGA TOUR Director of Public Relations & Community Outreach Anne Davis.  “This fundraising initiative builds on the outstanding partnership we’ve developed with local Hardee’s franchisees surrounding their generous support for THE PLAYERS Championship, and will go a long way toward helping us achieve our mission of delivering tangible support and critical services to military members, veterans and their families through 11 military homefront charities that are part of Birdies for the Brave.”

The Stars for Heroes program has supported more than 200 U.S. military charities nationwide since its inception in 2011. Stars for Heroes is made possible through generous contributions by CKE’s franchise community—The Independent Hardee’s Franchise Association (IHFA) and Star Franchise Association (SFA)—along with company employees and loyal customers. CKE partners and suppliers also provide private donations and in-kind support.

Since 2006, Birdies for the Brave has raised more than $17 million for 11 military homefront charities and annually conducts military appreciation activities and outreach during more than 80 tournaments on the PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions and Tour.  For more information, please visit
