TAMPA, Fla.- The PGA TOUR Wives Association members, in town for the Valspar Championship, took time on Wednesday to lend a hand to Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County.

Valspar, the tournament's sponsor, has provided 13,000 gallons of paint for 200 Pinellas County Habitat homes over the years.

The wives and some of the players gathered Wednesday to help paint two of the houses in the Stevens Creek subdivision in Clearwater.

The Valspar Corporation recently announced a five-year pledge of $36 million in paint and funding to Habitat for Humanity. The pledge includes a $2 million contribution from the Valspar Corporation Foundation. Valspar donated more than $6 million in paint and $350,000 to support Habitat's affordable housing work in 2015, and anticipates maintaining this level of support through 2019.

"Valspar is proud to provide volunteers, paint and funding to assist Habitat affiliates with the construction, repair and rehabilitation of decent, safe and affordable housing," said Gary E. Hendrickson, Valspar CEO and Chairman. "Valspar's long-standing partnership with Habitat has helped transform and improve communities across this nation. Neighborhoods matter and we're on it."

Valspar is a driving force behind A Brush with Kindness, Habitat for Humanity's exterior home-preservation program transforming neighborhoods by painting home exteriors and providing minor repairs and landscaping in partnership with low-income, disabled and senior homeowners.
